Building Schools for Nothing (BSfN) is a consultancy providing unique funding alternatives to building new schools and educational projects

Building Schools for Nothing (BSfN) was created to unlock the assets that schools own to release funds for much needed new school buildings. This means that schools can enjoy the benefits of their new buildings, at no net cost.

What we do

Building Schools for Nothing (BSfN) provides consultancy services to schools, academy trusts and multi academy trusts to develop strategies for generating unique funding solutions to deliver new school buildings and facilities.

BSfN is able to identify and unlock assets that a school owns to generate funds for much needed new buildings and facilities, enabling schools to enjoy the benefits that they bring without impacting on day-to-day finances.

Why we do it

Many schools lack funds to provide or renew the facilities they desperately need. Schools often have surplus land that is not fully utilised or that is inconveniently located. BSfN works with the school to realise these valuable land assets in order to generate funding opportunities to finance building projects to develop the required facilities.

  • Have you been denied government funding for development?
  • Is your school divided across two different sites?
  • Are you teaching in temporary classrooms?
  • Do you need better specialist teaching facilities?
  • Do you need improved sports facilities?
  • Do you have surplus land that you no longer require?
  • Are there any proposed residential developments next to or near the school on land that you don’t own?

Talk to BSfN to see how we could help!

“And finally, massive thanks and most of the credit to Mark at BSfN who continues to work night and day on our behalf and seems to have an infinite capacity to soak up pressure and respond with energy and creativity to whatever obstacle is thrown in his path. He gave us the expertise, the masterplan, and the confidence to go for it. His skill and energy, and his stubborn refusal to be daunted by any challenge have brought us to the threshold of delivering a new school for future generations of Elmbridge children.”

Rydens Enterprise School, Hersham (now known as Three Rivers Academy)
